“The simplicity and ease in which the instructions were delivered by Simon was so refreshing and gave me the confidence to venture into binding my own books at home for journal writing & general note taking.”

A Note from Simon

I made this guide because I know how hard it can be to figure out where to begin.

Bookbinding can look complicated from the outside — all the tools, terms, and techniques. But really, it starts with a folded piece of paper, a thread, and a bit of time to slow down. That’s where the joy is.

I’ve been binding books for over 20 years now, and I still get that same feeling each time I stitch a new one. My hope is that this guide gives you the confidence to just start — even if it’s not perfect, even if it’s just one small project. That’s how it begins.

Whether you go on to make a dozen journals or just enjoy the process once, I’m glad you’re here. Welcome.
