Lost Trades Fair 2024 Recap
Mar 12, 2024Did you get there? It was a fantastic (and very hot) long weekend in Bendigo.
The Lost Trades Fair is a captivating event that unites over 100 craftsmen and women, each passionate about their traditional hand skills and exquisite craftsmanship. This event acts as a crucial reminder of the significance of preserving these historic crafts and imparting their wisdom to the next generations. By fostering and championing these artisanal traditions, the fair plays a vital role in ensuring these precious skills and cultural legacies are not forgotten over time. It provides a stage for skilled artisans to impart their knowledge and enthusiasm, igniting interest and admiration in younger audiences who might otherwise be unaware of these detailed and meaningful practices. The promotion of these age-old crafts is essential in keeping alive a diverse and rich cultural tapestry of human creativity and innovation for future generations.
We've been attending the Lost Trades Fair since its inception and have watched it grow significantly over the years. This year, we were excited to be part of it once again, showcasing our expertise in hand bookbinding.
If you didn't get there you can watch a recap of one of our demonstrations on our You Tube channel now! We're planning to add more basic tutorials in the coming weeks, or if you're really keen and want to know how to craft you're own book by hand. Enrolments for our Online Course are now open, for a limited time!
