Forwarding

This is one of the most important steps in the bookbinding process and also an area that is often overlooked. Forwarding creates strength in the spine of book which plays a crucial role in its overall design and functionality.

Discovering different options for end papers and how to attach them.
How to achieve the beautiful, classic rounded spine.
How and why to reinforce the spine of the book

Creating the Case

Customising a cover to reflect your style and personality is where creativity comes into full play. Whether you are after something that looks like a classic, or a totally out of this world modern and vibrant design, the choice is yours!

In Module one Simon will go through how to set up your space. Whilst it can be fun and useful to have some specialised bookbinding tools, this is not a necessity.

Simon will explain and demonstrate substitutes you can use (that you will already own) for all the steps.
